There are a lot of things I did when I was younger that I regret. And overplucking my eyebrows is definitely in the top 5. They became thin, short and sparse after that stupid phase in 2000 when thin brows were all the craze. Bad idea. Fifteen years later I feel like I’ve paid my dues and am ready for bigger brows. You probably know by now I am a big Talika fan, when it comes to their face masks and eye pads. So obviously I wanted to try the product that made them famous in the fist place: the Talika Lipsourcils Expert. In 1948 Danielle Roches discovered that the plant based cream she used to treat burns of soldier’s eyes, also stimulated the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. And thus the first Talika product was born. I did the six week treatment. Here is what happened.
Fist, I will tell you a little bit more about the product. The package comes with a instruction manual. In there it says:
“(Your brows) are sometimes traumatized by excessive plucking and sun exposure, so they no longer grow and become discolored. Therefore, Talika is offering the very best of its formulas in an eyebrow treatment: Eyebrow Lipicils Expert.”
Within six weeks your brows are “renewed”. Your brows should be fuller, have fewer gaps, should lose less hair and be naturally regimented. Because your brows define a big part of your face, Talika says the Liposourcils will also give your face more character.
How to use the Talika Lipocourcils
The product comes in a mascara or brow gel type of package. The wand has a spoolie brush with a soft felt tip at the end. Every morning and every evening you are supposed to comb through your brows and then apply the treatment at the root of your eyebrow with the tip, following your natural brow line. After six weeks you should be able to see great results.
Did I get Bigger Brows?
First of all: Somehow this is the creepiest set of pictures I will ever post here. Sorry about that. But I want to give you an honest review, so let’s suffer through it. And second, I had really high hopes for this product. Partly because I have high expectations of Talika, because I love all their other products and partly because I really, really want me some bigger brows.
After six weeks I can definitely see that the hairs of my brows are a longer and the gaps have become a little less dramatic. Even though the changes are subtle and they don’t match my high expectations, I am happy with the progress. The last time I went to get my brows done the lady didn’t allow me to pay the full price, because “she hadn’t done anything”. So that’s my baseline! As you can see, my left brow still has a weird gap, but the hairs are longer and my brows look fuller.
I can especially notice the difference when I fill in my brows. I can actually fill them in bigger, now that there are more, longer hairs. This makes my brow routine a lot easier.
