The Makeup Revolution Brush Cleansers: Updated How I Clean my Brushes

Because I made the decision to go cruelty free last year, I needed to find a new way to clean my makeup brushes. That’s why I substituted my beloved MAC brush cleanser for the Makeup Revolution Brush Cleansers. I’ve been using the Anti-Bacterial Brush Cleanser (a spray) and the Anti-Bacterial Brush Shampoo for the past six months. Here is my verdict.

This product is genius. You know how when you are doing your eye makeup and you need to go in with a clean brush and it needs to be that exact brush that is just perfect but dirty? If you can relate to that, you are a proper makeup junkie like myself. If not, just imagine this: this spray cleans your brushes in an instant. No water needed. Just spray it on your brush, wipe & dry the brush on a clean towel and voila: clean brush, ready to use. Love it.

I do however only use it on my eye makeup brushes, not my face brushes, because even though Makeup Revolution is a cruelty free brand, it is not a natural brand and I don’t want those ingredients and all that alcohol on my face. But it is the perfect product to have on your vanity while you are doing your makeup. Highly recommend it!

The Makeup Revolution Anti-Bacterial Brush Shampoo

This is the product I use for my face brushes: my powder brushes and my foundation brushes. I use it with my Real Techniques brush cleansing palette, that I’ve had for ages (and still love). It works great for my powder brushes. Cleaning foundation brushes is tricky. Even though they smell clean and no more product comes off, there is always a little bit of residue. I imagine it’s because of the oils in foundation.

I double cleanse my foundation brushes, just to be sure and I will continue to look for ways or products to clean them even better. But for now I am satisfied with my new routine. Makeup Revolution is such an affordable, cruelty free brand: I have yet to find a disappointing product from this brand. I let my brushes dry in a brush holder, which is a lot less time consuming than having to hang them up.
