A couple of weeks ago I changed up my skincare routine. I wasn’t unhappy with the products I was using, but I was very curious about a brand that was new to me: NUXE. NUXE is a French skincare brand that is inspired by the power of nature and uses up to 96% natural ingredients. NUXE skincare is paraben free and specifically designed for sensitive skin. The past month I have been using the Cleansing Milk, Toning Lotion, Cleansing Gel and the Exfoliating Gel, from the Rose Petals line. If you want to know more about these products and if you should get them as well, then keep on reading!
Aliza Jabès, who is the founder of NUXE, was fascinated by the power of plants, and convinced that the plant kingdom has great therapeutic value. I love this as a starting point, because I couldn’t agree more. For years I used brands like Dr. Hauschka and Weleda, for this reason. So I was very excited to try NUXE skincare.
The Cleansing Milk with Rose Petals
The first thing I noticed and loved about this product was the fact that it has a pump. If you’ve read any of my previous beauty blogs, you know I am slightly obsessed with bottles having pumps. The packaging is perfect: I also love the color and the styling. It’s just something you want to keep on your vanity table and not hide away in a drawer. This obviously isn’t the most important thing about a skincare or make-up product, but it’s definitely a bonus. The cleansing milk, like all the other NUXE products from this line, has a very interesting, flowery smell. It’s not something you come across every day. I needed a minute to let this smell ‘sink in’ to know how I felt about it. It brought me back to my childhood: it smells like a product my mom used to have when I was a kid. It’s definitely a very classic and sophisticated smell. I love it! I stop and smell it every time I use one of my NUXE products. The lotion is very soft and nourishing and cleans my face well. All in all, I would highly recommend this NUXE cleansing milk.
The Toning Lotion with Rose Petals
This bottle does NOT have a pump. Because of this I spilled way too much of the product, which is such a shame. So eventually I just put it in another bottle, so I can spray the toner on a cotton pad. This helps, but I hope NUXE will change the packaging, because the product itself is pretty amazing. It has that same, beautiful smell and it leaves my skin feeling super soft. I definitely recommend the NUXE toning lotion as well!
The Cleansing Gel with Rose Petals
This cleansing gel, again, smells delicious. The formula is like a milk: it melts on your skin and makes it insanely soft. It’s also quite hydrating. I love it. The only thing is, it doesn’t foam, so I can’t use it with my Clarisonic. Maybe the NUXE Micellar Foaming Cleanser is more suitable for a cleansing brush. But other than that, this is a very lovely cleansing gel. It does a very good job getting rid of any make-up residue after a long day of wearing a full face of make-up.
The Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals
So, full disclosure: I never used to exfoliate. I have very sensitive skin, that has been damaged by the sun way too much, so I always felt a little reserved when it came to exfoliating. But I read up on how important it is and decided I would feel comfortable exfoliating with a brand like NUXE. So once a week I (gently!) exfoliate my face with this exfoliating gel. After using this product for four weeks (four times) I feel it’s too early to tell what it does for my skin. I will keep you updated in empties blogpost. But for now: if you are looking for a gentle exfoliator for sensitive skin, that smells amazing, this product is for you.
