Even though Christian Dior has been dead for 60 years, his legacy continues to offer us some of the most beautiful luxury products. That’s why, in today’s makeup routine, I am featuring makeup products from Dior Beauty. Obviously this high end makeup brand is quite expensive. But is it worth the price tag? If you are thinking about investing in Dior makeup, then keep on reading.
The Diorskin Forerever Foundation
I’m starting this routine off with the Diorskin Forever Foundation. You can read a full review on this foundation here, but this is probably the most amazing foundation I have ever used. Even though it is medium to full coverage, it gives a very natural finish. This foundation literally feels and looks like your own skin. It doesn’t feel like you are wearing any foundation, yet it still covers up everything you want covered up. It’s perfection in a bottle. Dior is not a cruelty free brand, so for that reason I won’t repurchase it. But product wise I prefer it even over my Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation.
The Diorskin Forever Compact
This is the first powder I ever bought. Years ago. When I had absolutely zero knowledge about and experience with makeup. I got horrible advice in store. It looks very well loved and used, but it’s not: Isaya dived into it one day and hit pan. I make it work as a bronzer when I have a tan, but it’s too orange. It is entirely possible that, in the right shade, this is actually a beautiful product. But I really couldn’t say.
The Dior Blush
The Dior Blushes are stunning. This one is in the shade Miss Pink and it is so beautiful. It is a very soft, light pink. It is very subtle. It is not a super pigmented blush, which annoyed me at first, but is something I’ve really come to appreciate once I started using drugstore blushes. You can build it up beautifully. I find it works best with a buffer brush or stippling brush. Love it.
The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes
The 5 couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes from Dior are stunning. But they are NOT worth the 62 euro’s if you ask me. You get five shades, that are nice, but not amazing (which is what you expect for that kind of money). I have the 876 Trafalgar palette which contains beautiful fall colors: brown, dark red (very pigmented), a shimmery light pink (not pigmented at all) and a shimmery Ivory shade (absolutely gorgeous). But for the same price you can buy two Morphe palettes and get 70 eyeshadows in super high quality. The only reason I can think of for you to invest in the Dior palette is because it is perfect for traveling.
The Dior Kohl Pencil
lI got this in a white shade for my waterline, to make myself look more awake and less tired. It works, sure. But if you are looking for something similar, this is my advice: don’t buy white, but choose a nude color. And second: I feel like this is the type of product you can probably safe some money on by going to the drugstore.
The Dior Addict Lipstick
Dior lipsticks are definitely worth the splurge. I love my Dior Addict lipstick in the shade Wonderful (561). It was one of the first lipsticks I ever bought and as you can see in the picture I am almost out. It is a gorgeous, transparent pink shade with a lovely shimmer. It is very hydrating and transforms beautifully with different lipliners underneath.
The Finished Look
