As I mentioned in my Green Smoothie Recipe, I want to be as healthy as possible during my pregnancy. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables is a big priority for me right now. But I do want to eat things that taste great and feel good (and looks super pretty!). This delicious and healthy froothie bowl is one of my favorite things to make. It holds all the fruit for the day, tastes super sweet and is probably the most Instagrammable thing I have ever made. Want to know my recipe? Keep on reading!
You probably know by now I love all things pink. Food is no exception. This gorgeous, pink froothie bowl is an absolute treat. And a super healthy one too! Here is how you make one, in just five minutes.
The Ingredient List
- Half a banana. This will make it sweet! Bananas are high in fiber, as well as anti- oxidants.
- Half an apple. This will give it a nice crunch. They are another great source of anti- oxidants and they are supposed to be good for your teeth, memory and cholesterol.
- A pear. More sweetness, vitamins, minerals and fibers. Delicious!
- A hand full of Raspberries. I use frozen ones, because they make your froothie nice and cold! And, very important: they will turn it pink!
- If you like: you can also ad some mango. Another fruit that is high in fiber and has some amazing health benefits.
- Soy yoghurt. This is a vegan froothie, so use soy or almond yoghurt to mix everything together.
- A table spoon of flaxseed oil. This is to ad some much needed omega to the mix: super important for the development of my baby’s brain.
Put everything in the blender for a couple of minutes. I like to make sure it doesn’t turn into a completely smooth drink: I prefer tasting little pieces of apple and cold raspberries. If you are not big on structure, then blend some more!
- After everything is blended, put it in a bowl and start adding the toppings.
- I like to put on some muesli: some delicious grains, dried fruits, nuts and seeds to get that extra health boost and energy.
- A spoon of Chia Seeds. Chia seed not only contains omega 3, but are also rich in fibers, calcium, protein, vitamins and mineral. Great for mommy, but also very important for the baby brain developing inside my belly.
- Some little pieces of fruit you’ve got left over, just to make it extra pretty and tasteful.
Be sure to drink a lot of water with your froothie and during the day. Your body and your skin will thank you for it!
