Makeup makes me so happy. It’s shiny, pretty, colorful… what’s not to love? One of my favorite cruelty free drugstore brands is Makeup Revolution. Their face palettes and eyeshadow palettes are amazing! And I bought two new ones on sale. The Mermaids Forever Palette and the Contour Palette. I asked on Instagram if you wanted me to do a post about them on the blog and the answer was YASSS. So, here we go! 

The Mermaids Forever Palette

How could I not buy this. Look how pretty the Mermaids Forever Palette is! How can these colors not bring joy to your soul? I usually go for nude colored palettes as I love nudes, but this… this was just too pretty not to pick up. The entire rainbow is represented in this palette. The colors are super vibrant and pigmented. The quality is absolutely amazing. For instance, the turquoise color: for the look I did for this blogpost I didn’t even use a face mist to intensify the color. It just goes on like you see it in the palette.

I wanted to dig in immediately (but had to make photo’s first – #bloglife). There are both mattes and shimmers in the palette. And they have names like “Myth”, “Mermaids”, “Fishtail”, “Pink Sea” and “Enchant”. Maybe I’ve been reading The Little Mermaid a bit too often to Isaya, but how can these names not make you happy? Also good to know about this palette: the fall out is minimal. Even with the blue colors. How cool is that!

And also quite brilliant: the Mermaids Forever Palette costs only €9,50. That’s 32 beautiful eyeshadows for not even ten euro’s!

The Ultra Contour Palette

I had my eye on this one for quite some time. It can be quite hard to find contour shades that don’t turn you orange. Especially when you are as pale as I am. But the Ultra Contour Palette looked super promising when I swatched it. And I can tell you, it does not disappoint. I was worried it wouldn’t offer me anything different than the Golden Sugar Palette (also a must have!), but it does! There are three contour shades, three lightening shades (one of which is a banana shade!) and two highlighters in this palette.

The fact that there is so much to choose from makes it the perfect al face and all year round palette. When I am tanned I can use the darker shades and in winter I can use the lightest contour shade. But I can also make subtle transitions within my cheek-, forehead and nose contour, using different shades. And the highlighters… Ooo.. they are gorgeous. The lightest shade is an absolute “blind the haters” highlight that can be witnessed from Venus. The darker highlighter is a pretty everyday highlight shade.
