3 Ways to Wear a Pencil Skirt

When it comes to clothes I believe in high quality, timeless basics that go with pretty much anything. That way I can style the same clothes a thousand different ways and feel brand new every time I wear them. Four years ago I bought a pencil skirt at Filippa-K. It’s black and made from a stretchy material. The past years I’ve worn this skirt many different ways and on various occasions. I’m going to show you why a simple black pencil skirt is a must in your wardrobe!

The first look is for work, but of course can also be worn to a birthday party or another social occasion. I styled the skirt with a long Karl Lagerfeld blouse. I also have it in pink and I absolutely love them. Because the blouse is see through I wear a black top underneath. The belt is from Reiss and has a gorgeous gold front. The boots, from See by Chloé, are one of my favorites, because they are super comfy and have a cool, shiny detail in the heel. You probably know by know I love all things shiny. The bag is my work bag, which you’ve seen in my Office Outfits- blog and is from Elisabetta Franchi.

I don’t go out at night a lot, but when I do I like to go for dinner and drinks with my girlfriends. I’m wearing my Tibi top, which was such a good investment because I can wear it with a lot of outfits. The shoes are the perfect nude sandals. I had been looking for these for quite a while and found them at Sam Edelman. The envelope clutch, by Michael Kors, is another one of my favorites. It’s quite flashy, with a gold chain strap and made from shiny leather, but still very sophisticated. I love that I can wear it with a strap, because I’m a Dutchie, so I take my bicycle pretty much everywhere. And when I arrive at the bar or restaurant, I put the chain into the purse and voilà, a clutch is born.

Sunday

Sundays are for family. I love to take my ladies to lunch, stroll around the city, maybe shop a little, nothing major, just quality time. I’m wearing the Filippa-K skirt with a simple, soft top from Repeat Cashmere. The bag is another See by Chloé, in a gorgeous nude pink. It fits my wallet, my phone, a lipstick and some diapers for Isaya. The shoes are from Hugo Boss and my heart jumped with joy when they arrived at my doorstep. They are the perfect nude flats, with pointy toes and nice shiny details on the front. They make me happy. But not as happy as carrying Aya in the ring sling. If you follow us on Instagram you know I am a baby wearing mama. It’s just the easiest and coziest way to get around. This sling is from Diva Milano.
