Empties Part 9: What (not) to buy next

I didn’t do an Empties post last month, because Aya was in the hospital with pneumonia the last week of March. But my baby is healthy again and my trash full. And something I think is kind of cool about this Empties post is that apart from 1 product, it is 100% cruelty free! Meaning, not only is my skincare routine completely cruelty free, I am also running out of animal tested products to finish! I still have a lot of makeup I have to use up, that isn’t cruelty free, but as far as skincare and haircare go, I have transitioned into animal friendly routines. And that makes me super happy! I hope this post will inspire you to start or keep buying cruelty free as well!

Cruelty Free Facewash Recommendations

I finished two face cleansers last month and I loved both of them. It’s really just a matter of preference and availability. Both Zarqa and RAU cosmetics are cruelty free, gentle and natural. So, suitable for senstive skin, but still highly effective. The Zarqa Face Cleansing Foam is obviously a foaming cleanser. The RAU cosmetics Silver Facial Washgel is, well a wash gel. So, I guess that’s where the preference kicks in. Also, the Zarqa cleanser doesn’t really have a smell, but the RAU cosmetics one has a nice, fresh, natural smell.

Zarqa Cleansing Foam €10,-

I love face masks and I love Dr. Hauschka. So obviously this Clarifying Clay Mask was a hit. This was not a full size, but a tester, so I only tried it once. But usually that’s all it takes to fall in love with a Dr. Hauschka products. Everything just smells gorgeous and works. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Hauschka Masker €26,95

I have raved about Louis Widmer a couple of times now on the blog. I think they are a great, effective cruelty free brand. The face cream is a dream. I’ve used it for about 4 months and once I’m done testing a few other face creams, this is definitely one I will come back to. Great for sensitive skin, doesn’t get sticky, sinks into the skin fast and it’s a great base for makeup.

Louis Widmer Dagcreme €20,-

Cruelty Free Perfume

My heart sank when I researched cruelty free perfumes. Almost all of the big & beautiful perfume brands use animal testing methods. That is such a shame. Luckily there is Rituals. You can always trust Rituals to create amazing smells. I bought two travel sized perfumes, this gold one and the pink one. Both are delicious, rich and long lasting perfumes, that I highly recommend. The gold one is sold out everywhere, so I will link the full size pink “Fleurs de L’Himalaya” down below.

Rituals Parfum €39

Cruelty Free Toothpaste

I talked about this toothpaste in my previous Empties blogpost. I love Neobio as a super affordable, cruelty free toothpaste and I definitely recommend it. I have not repurchased it, because I am testing charcoal toothpastes!

Neobio Tandpasta €1,95

Bye Bye Holy Grail

This hurts. I love my Dr. Brandt Pores no More primer. If you want to know why, check out my full review on the product and the brand. But it is not a cruelty free brand unfortunately, so even though I love this product, I will not repurchase.

Dr. Brandt Primer €45
