In this natural winter skincare blogpost I am sharing 10 products that are essential during the cold winter months. These skincare products are 100% natural (well, one is 99% natural) and not tested on animals. Almost all of the products are vegan, except for a few that contain beeswax and/or lanolin. And all of them contain organic ingredients. So, these products are not only great for your dehydrated, dry, dull, pale, sensitive winter skin, they are also environmentally conscious, ethically produced and animal cruelty free!
Natural Winter Skincare for the entire Body
“I want to use more natural and cruelty free products. But where do I start? How do I get a complete skincare routine that is natural? What do I need?”
I get these questions quite often. I have yet to do a Natural & Cruelty Free Skincare Routine in English. I do have many natural skincare posts in Dutch and a Natural & Cruelty Free A to Z that I try to keep updated. But I promise I will do an updated 100% natural & cruelty free complete skincare routine, in both English and in Dutch soon.
However, if you want to “greenify” your skincare routine, these natural winter skincare essentials are a great place to start. I’ve been testing these natural products for several months and they’ve been helping my skin through the cold temperature and dry air. I am sharing natural products for your face, hands, lips, eyes and body.
For your Face
The Marina Miracle Oil Cleanser is perfect for winter because it is rich and soft and gives your dry winter skin that lovely nurtured feel. It also smells like beach life on a Tropical island, which is great if Winter isn’t really your thing!
Skin Food is one of my all time favorite Weleda products. The “Light” version is my idea of the perfect face cream. It is super hydrating, it smells amazing and you can use it in at least ten different ways.
Even though I do quite a lot exfoliating masks in Winter, my skin also needs this Dr. Hauschka Revitalizing mask during the colder months. It is very gentle, which makes it an easy, low threshold skincare product. I use it when my skin feels dull and in need of some TLC.
For your Eyes and Lips
SO’BIO étic is a lovely organic brand from France that recently started selling in the Netherlands. I fell in love with their Argan based creams: so rich and hydrating. This eye cream is perfection. Dry under eyes, mommy bags, wrinkles: this anti aging eye contour cream takes care of it.
Yes, another Skin Food product. Because they are really that good. This lip balm is perfect for winter. It is super creamy and rich and nurtures your dry, chapped lips back to health. The feel is so lovely and makes your lips look healthy and plump.
To Protect & Tan
It is so important to protect your skin from sun damage. And this doesn’t stop during the winter time! You need to wear sunscreen all year round. This {SIMPLE as that} sunscreen is all natural, but doesn’t leave a white cast. I love it!
Eco by Sonya makes so many great 100% natural products. I am in love with all of them. The tanning range is also perfection. This Winter Skin tanning moisturizer is what keeps me from turning into a pale AF ghost during the Dutch winters. You can check out my full review, with before and after photo’s, here.
For your Body & Hands
I picked this Sea Buckthorn shower cream from Weleda for my Natural Winter Skincare Essentials, because it is revitalizing. The refreshing scent will snap you out of your seasonal depression and the rich cream will take care of your dry winter skin.
Depending on the kind of teenager you were, the scent of this Almond bodylotion and this Almond hand cream will either remind you of almond cookies or of Amaretto. The Almond line is perfect for sensitive skin. The formulas are very gentle, but o so effective. The products are very soothing and rich: they will make your hands and body feel soft and hydrated. Also, how sleek is the packaging of the Weleda bodylotions! Also, I love that they have pumps. Literally a perfect product and definitely a natural winter skincare essential!
