Empties Part 11: What (not) to buy next

Time to go through my June beauty- trash. There is quite a bit of it this month. Some of the products we’ve used up this month I recommend, some you can definitely save your money on. So, if you want to know what (not) to buy next, then keep on reading. From lavender oil to hand soap and from natural deodorants to toothpaste: I will let you know what’s worth your money!

All of the products I recommend are cruelty free!

Products I recommend and would repurchase

Lavender Oil: I love lavender – it is one of my favorite scents. So relaxing and rich. I got this bottle fromΒ Natural Heroes, one of my all time favorite webshops for natural and essential oils. It is 100% natural and organic and costs only €9,95. I will definitely repurchase this.

Aleppo Soap: Aleppo Soap has been one of my greatest finds of the past half year. Aleppo soap has done wonders for my hands. I’ve written a post about it (Dutch) and will continue to use it on my hands and body.

Natural Deodorants: I have tried many natural deodorants the past months. I want to test as many as possible, because I know people are interested, but have a hard time finding one that’s good for them. Salt of the Earth and EnergeyBalance are two of the brands I’ve tested and found effective.

Night Serum: It’s no secret I am a huge Dr. Hauschka fan. They just know how to get it right: my skincare routine and makeup routine are full of Hauschka favorites. This serum is a mini, but I loved it combined with my Dr. Hauschka face cream: they melt together.

Bodylotion: I’ve been a TreacleMoon fan for quite a while now. This pink hand- and body lotion is definitely one of my favorites. It smells delicious and sweet. And this bottle lasted us an entire year! It’s HUGE.

Charcoal toothpaste: Almost every brand has a charcoal toothpaste now: it’s such a hype. But I do recommend you pick one that is actually good. And natural. My favorite is My Magic Mud. Especially the powder is amazing and it contains only four ingredients. I am not a big Ecodenta fan, when it comes to charcoal toothpaste: the taste made me nauseous.

Baby Shower Gel: Naif is such a populair brand here in the Netherlands. It is founded by two dads (love that part) that wanted products for their children that didn’t contain chemical sh*t. So they created Naif. We love it. The shower gel is one of our favorites.

Products I don’t recommend and will not repurchase

Face Tan: As I said in my review of the Lancome Flash Bronzer, it’s a good product that works really well (it does make your skin dry). But it is not a cruelty free brand and it’s not natural. I am very happy with my natural alternative though, so I’m okay saying goodbye to this product.

Mascara: This Sisley mascara is definitely something you can save your money on. First of all, it’s not neccecary to buy expensive mascara’s. You can only use them for six months and formula’s are so good now a days. So it’s a waste to spend your money on high end brand. Also, Sisly is not cruelty free, so not a brand I can stand behind. Dr. Hauschka and Boho have great, natural alternatives.

Translucent Powder: This was once one of my all time favorite makeup products. But alas, MAC needs to step up on the cruelty free front before I will buy from them again. It’s a shame, because the quality of their products is sooo good. But, if a brand doesn’t make the effort to be cruelty free, it’s just not worth my money.
