Yesterday I wrote a (Dutch) blogpost about why I do these Empties posts, so if you are wondering why I feel it’s important to share my beauty trash with you, feel free to check it out! Today I have 15 cruelty free and eco friendly beauty empties for you! I have divided them into five categories: eco friendly baby empties, everyday empties, natural skincare, hair and makeup. So, if you need a bit of “green” inspo for your beauty routine, then keep on reading!
Eco Friendly Baby Empties
I have talked about WaterWipes many times before and I know a lot of mamas out there love this brand. And so do we. We haven’t tried a whole lot of other option [three I believe], but WaterWipes is just the one we like best. It’s 100% natural, cruelty free, vegan and they are firm, but soft and they don’t dry out. Also a plus: we can buy them [here] in bulk at a discount, which is great!
The Bibs pacifiers have been the only pacifiers Alela liked, from the beginning. We had a few others, but she didn’t want them. And honestly I don’t mind, because these look so cute and they are natural rubber. They are on the expensive side, but a more sustainable and healthy choice than plastic.
Eco Friendly Everyday Empties
We often use packaging-free soap to wash our hands. But for the kitchen and downstairs bathroom we prefer liquid soap. So we choose an eco friendly option, which is this lovely lavender scented hand soap by Ecover. We buy the 1l bottles, so there is less packaging, shipping and money involved and then refill our soap dispensers.
Two gorgeous 100% natural deodorants: the pink one on the left is a cream deodorant from The Ohm Collection and red one on the right is a roll on from Weleda. Both have the most amazing scents. I ended up repurchasing the Pomegranate deodorant from Weleda (multiple times), because it is a lot more affordable. But both are a heavenly and effective choice.
We have been exclusively using bamboo toothbrushes, as a more eco friendly choice than plastic, for quite a while now. We’ve tried out and loved several brands, but end up getting Next Brush most of the time, because it is slightly more affordable brands like Humble Brush. And the bristles are quite sturdy, which is just a personal preference.
Natural Skincare Empties
What’s an empties post without Dr. Hauschka products. You all know by know I am in love with this 100% natural & cruelty free brand. This month I used up the Revitalizing Mask, the Soothing Cleansing Milk and the Cleansing Cream. Check out my Dr. Hauschka skincare routine here.
I LOVED this complexion mist from Aubrey. I even put it in my “natural ride or die skincare products” post. The only reason I didn’t repurchase is because my fave “green” drugstore stopped selling it, so I didn’t know where to turn. Instead I decided to make my own 100% natural face mist/ setting spray.
The Tony Moly toner with 96% bamboe water was very nice to use: very refreshing. The reason why I didn’t repurchase, is because I found an even more natural and purer toner since. I also read this brand sells in mainland china, which unfortunately takes it off the cruelty free (and my) list.
The reason why I won’t repurchase the Zarqa calming face mask, is because I am using AHA exfoliating masks three times a week. This mask was lovely, but it’s not contributing to my current skincare routine, which is focused on reducing pigmentation and getting a grip on those fine lines.
100% Natural Hair Empties
Two beautiful natural hair products. Hair O’right is an amazing environmentally conscious brand that works really hard to create sustainable products that do no harm to the big three [humans, animals, earth]. Their products are not 100% natural [I believe 95%+]. Tabitha James Kraan is 100% natural and pretty epic. TJK is such a game changer. You can find my review on her hair cleansers and conditioners here!
Cruelty Free Make-up
Benecos is such a great, all natural make-up brand: it is super affordable, making it a very easy for all budgets to pick 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free make-up. This vegan mascara is very lovely and effective. It is not as perfect as the Inika mascara [that’s just heaven], but it is about €20,- cheaper.
